Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 championships have been achieved on hard courts
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev won his maiden title for nearly 30 months with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the competition final.
The athlete, a former top-ranked player, has endured a difficult period, managing just a single victory at the Grand Slams and undergoing a setback at the US Open.
His inconsistency on the tennis tour - and issues with his serving in especial - resulted in him falling of the top ten and eventually separating with long-time mentor Gilles Cervara.
Presently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, he has consistently improved in the recent weeks - peaking in a closely contested three-set victory over challenger Moutet.
This marks the player's first championship after the Italian tournament and initial on a hard court since spring of the previous year.
Success also indicates Medvedev has achieved 21 victories at 21 various competitions.
"This marks the first occasion I'm at a competition with my children simultaneously, so to win a title is really nice," commented ranked player the champion.
"This championship is in tribute of my younger daughter my daughter, because the first title I achieved when my child Alisa was delivered was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his last six finals, including in that event earlier this year.
The player's defensive play style and frequent reactions on the playing surface had prompted commentators to question if his skill to play at the top level was finished.
Yet the player has altered his approach in the past month, making an effort to come to the net and perform aggressively, backed up by an enhanced serving game.
He fought back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the tricky Frenchman, taking four of the final five exchanges to go ahead.
The competitors traded breaks in the second set before the challenger, attempting for his initial ATP Tour title, took control to force a decider.
The opponent saved four early-game break points in a close final set before the champion broke to 15 to secure the win.
Suitably, the winner secured the win with a rally at the net area, with his opponent failing to control a volley after over two and a half hours.
